Position Summary:

Organizes and manages on site PCMS program and inventory. Responsible for reprocessing, intraoperative support and Aesculap PCMS inventory at specific site of program. Provides on site daily coordination of PCMS Team.  

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

  • Coordinate PCMS program at a specific site
  • Perform reprocessing functions as necessary
  • Schedule on site staff work days
  • Assign daily work for staff
  • Maintain appropriate back up inventory of instruments and supplies
  • Assure all instrumentation is repaired as needed
  • Assure instrument/cable quality checks are done on a routine basis
  • Maintain set use records and submit per procedure statistics on a monthly basis to Supervisor, Manager and Sales Representative
  • Provide information to Manager and Sales Representative on a routine basis or as needed
  • Assure all members of the PCMS Team maintain competency
  • Monitor daily activities of the PCMS Team members
  • Plan orientation program for new staff members
  • Plan ongoing training for all PCMS Team members based on staff needs or implementation of new technology
  • Monitor daily activity of the PCMS sets
  • Identify opportunities for PCMS program within the facility
  • Organize and maintain system for ordering supplies or replacement instruments and parts
  • Maintain all PCMS set documentation in instacountPLUS or other instrument management software if appropriate
  • Monitor new technology being implemented in OR to determine if changes are needed in PCMS sets
  • Monitor OR scheduling trends to determine any impact on PCMS Program
  • Provide factual documentation of staff activities to Manager as needed
  • Communicate frequently with department manager on site to determine if there are additional needs
  • Communicate frequently with OR Staff to assure program goals are being met
  • Provide intraoperative support for instrumentation as needed
  • Maintain accurate instrument inventory indicating reasons for discrepancies
  • Responsible for returning all inventory pulled from service to Aesculap PCMS in St. Louis
  • Identifies own areas of development and seeks opportunities for personal and professional growth
  • Must comply with applicable ISO and FDA regulations as stated in Quality Manual

Required:

  • Three Years Experience Required
  • Experience in a fast pace environment
  • Sterile Processing Certification Expected - CRCST Certified / CBSPD Certified 
  • Language and mathematical skills; reasoning ability:
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

M-F, Fulltime, 12pm - 8:30pm - Saturday and Sunday as needed 
Location, Albany Ny (St. Peters Hospital)

It is an essential function of this position for an employee to be present and in-person at the physical site(s) of our customers and potential customers.  Many of our customers and potential customers are in clinical settings, including, but not limited to, hospitals, clinics, and other health care clinics (hereinafter, “Healthcare Customers”). Many of our Healthcare Customers require outside vendors like us to present proof that they have certain requisite vaccinations and immunizations, including, but not limited to, vaccinations against COVID-19 and seasonal influenza, before being granted entry into the Healthcare Customers’ clinical settings. To gain access to our Healthcare Customers clinical settings, field sales, field service, and other customer facing professionals are required to register with the vendor credentialing organization associated with the Healthcare Customers, complete the Healthcare Customers’ required process, and undergo a series of clearances. Vendor credentialing clearances include, but are not limited to, a national criminal background check, drug screening, and immunizations as determined by the vendors, which may include, but are not limited to, Influenza, Hepatitis B Virus, and COVID-19. You must fully comply with the requirements of the Healthcare Customers in your region, including any necessary proof of any vaccination.  As such, all individuals in this position assigned to a Healthcare Customer with a COVID-19, Influenza, Hepatitis B Virus, or other vaccination requirement must be fully vaccinated and/or immunized in accordance with the Healthcare Customers’ requirements.  B.
