Position Summary
This entry‑level strategic procurement role focuses on source identification and evaluation, supplier selection, quoting, qualification, and transition support from strategic to operational procurement. The position supports and serves as backup to the Strategic Procurement Manager across functional areas and is responsible for driving value through procurement strategies that optimize supplier relationships, reduce total cost, ensure consistent supply, and mitigate risk.
What You’ll Do
- Track and analyze key commodity markets while benchmarking to B. Braun costs
- Implement strategies to capitalize on domestic and global price fluctuations
- Analyze spend data and cost drivers to optimize cost position
- Utilize risk assessment tools to identify and implement mitigation strategies
- Coordinate total demand requirements across the U.S. and globally to leverage spend
- Collaborate with internal customers to source materials aligned with functional and financial needs
- Manage RFI and RFQ processes as part of supplier selection
- Support contract development, negotiation, implementation, and compliance
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on evaluations, risk analysis, and strategic reviews
- Identify and implement cost‑savings and supply‑base rationalization opportunities
- Participate in supplier management activities including evaluations and risk reviews
- Support development of annual material budgets
- Interface with Operational Procurement teams on supplier‑related activities
- Develop documentation supporting strategic procurement processes
- Execute work related to long‑term commodity strategies
Logistics & Cost Optimization Focus
- Analyze logistics and freight spend to identify cost‑reduction opportunities
- Support sourcing and performance management of logistics service providers (carriers, 3PLs, forwarders)
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to optimize transportation modes, lanes, and service levels
- Evaluate total landed cost impacts in sourcing and supplier decisions
- Track logistics market trends and risks impacting cost and supply continuity
- Support freight RFIs/RFQs and carrier selection activities
- Monitor logistics KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives
Knowledge & Skills
- Full working knowledge of relevant business practices and procedures
- Apply standard theories, principles, and concepts to propose effective solutions
- Work under minimal supervision, relying on experience and judgment
- Exercise judgment in resolving complex problems
- May assist with training or guiding lower‑level employees
- Regular interaction with supervisors, peers, and external vendors
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of related experience
- Occasional business travel required (10% or less)
Preferred
- Applicable industry or professional certification

Salary:
75-95k
