Buyer II – Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain Professional

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Buyer II to manage a portfolio of raw materials sourced from both internal affiliates and external suppliers. In this role, you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to maintain inventory levels, optimize supplier performance, and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and purchase assigned raw materials and commodities from internal and external suppliers.

Review demand requirements and issue purchase orders to maintain supply continuity.

Monitor supplier delivery schedules and inventory levels.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Evaluate supplier quotes and recommend sourcing decisions.

Research market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to support business needs.

Maintain purchasing records and procurement documentation.

Provide guidance, training, and mentoring to peers as needed.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain processes.
- Supplier relationship management and contract negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze quotations, inventory levels, and market trends.
- Knowledge of sourcing strategies and commodity management.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with purchasing systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 4+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to travel occasionally for business.
- Ability to work a non-standard schedule when required.
- Ability to work under general supervision and exercise sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- APICS, CPSM, CPM, or other relevant supply chain/procurement certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing supplier contracts and strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience.
- Experience with inventory planning and demand management.
Physical Demands
- Light work; occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for handling and operating equipment.
- Frequent visual acuity requirements, including depth perception and peripheral vision.
- Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to moving equipment and, in some areas, chemicals.
Salary Range: $76,600-$86,600
The targeted range for this role takes into account a range of factors that are considered when making compensation and hiring decisions; included but not limited to: skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
