Government Key Account Specialist

The Government Key Account Specialist is a full-time, field-based role responsible for managing strategic relationships with government hospital stakeholders, ensuring product availability in government hospital accounts , and effectively navigating public procurement and tender processes.
This role requires extensive on-site engagement, frequent hospital visits, and active participation in procurement-related activities to support sustainable business growth and ethical partnerships.

 

Your key responsibilities: 

  1. Field-Based Relationship Management
  • Develop, build, and maintain ethical and long-term relationships with key government hospital stakeholders, including Bid & Awards Committee (BAC), Technical Working Group (TWG), Pharmacy, Supply Chain, etc.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for assigned government hospital accounts.
  • Conduct regular hospital visits to strengthen partnerships, understand account needs, and support procurement and post-tender activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Finance) to align field insights with business strategies.

 

2. Bid & Procurement Representation (On-Site)

  • Represent the company in-person during bid conferences, pre-bid meetings, clarifications, and negotiations at government institutions.
  • Support and coordinate timely submission of tender documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with government procurement requirements.
  • Actively monitor bid schedules, results, and post-bid movements through direct engagement with hospital procurement teams.

 

3. Market Intelligence & Competitive Monitoring (Field-Driven)

  • Drive business growth through tender and non-tender opportunities identified through regular field activities.
  • Monitor competitor activity, bid pricing, market share, and win/loss trends through on-site intelligence gathering.
  • Track healthcare policy developments, particularly DOH regulations and government procurement guidelines, and proactively assess their business impact.
  • Provide actionable field insights and analysis to management for continuous improvement and strategic decision-making.

 

4. Account Planning &   Execution

  • Develop and execute annual, quarterly, and monthly territory business plans in collaboration with Sales and Marketing.
  • Translate account strategies into field execution plans, ensuring consistent customer coverage and opportunity follow-through.
  • Prioritize target hospitals, tenders, and key initiatives based on account potential and procurement timelines.

 

5. Bid and Procurement Documentation Support

  • Assist in the preparation, completion, submission, and tracking of government tender documents, accreditations, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all technical, legal, and commercial documents are accurate and submitted on time.

 

6. Post-Tender Execution & Hospital Follow-Up

    • Conduct on-site follow-up with hospitals after tender award to ensure purchase orders are issued and processed.
    • Closely monitor deliveries and contract compliance in coordination with supply chain and logistics teams.
    • Support collections and documentation by coordinating directly with hospital finance and supply offices.

 

What you will bring to the team: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in:
    • Government tender management
    • Key account management (must) and sales experience (preferred)
    • Pharmaceutical or medical device industry (advantage)
  • Proven experience in field-based hospital engagement and government sector procurement.
  • Strong working knowledge of government procurement laws, processes, and documentation
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Highly results-driven, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and multiple leadership levels.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
