Focus: Azure Cloud‑Scale Analytics Framework

Role Overview

At B. Braun, DevOps Engineers are evolving toward Platform Engineering. In this hybrid role, you support product teams by integrating them with B. Braun’s data platform and contribute to the Data Intelligence Platform built on the Azure Cloud‑Scale Analytics Framework, with a strong focus on Azure Databricks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Team Support

  • Support adoption of the Cloud‑Scale Analytics architecture
  • Implement Unity Catalog–aligned governance on Azure Databricks
  • Enable data product teams to build transformations and pipelines
  • Ensure compliance with governance, security, and quality standards
  • Collaborate directly with developers to improve application reliability and observability
  • Troubleshoot system issues across the full technology stack
  • Implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions

2. Platform Contribution

  • Identify common patterns across teams that can be standardized
  • Contribute reusable components to the internal analytics platform
  • Implement and maintain infrastructure automation benefiting multiple teams
  • Establish best practices for cloud‑native and distributed systems
  • Collaborate with the Center of Competence “DevOps” to align with organizational standards and strengthen B. Braun’s DevSecOps culture

Professional Competencies

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or similar field — or comparable professional experience (3+ years)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, esp. Azure Cloud Scale Analytics Framework, Azure Databricks platform
  • Experience with monitoring, distributed tracing, and observability tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana)
  • Strong Infrastructure‑as‑Code skills (Terraform, Crossplane)
  • Scripting experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell)

Desired

  • Microsoft Fabric automation experience
  • Experience with data quality and testing frameworks
  • Data Contract automation
  • Knowledge of regulated environments (GxP, IEC62304, …), RBAC, and policy‑as‑code
