Your Role:

We are looking for a motivated and detail‑driven QC Lab Technician to join our team at the Thorncliffe Aseptic Unit. In this role, you will support both the Quality Unit and Production teams to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient manufacture of aseptic products. If you thrive in a regulated setting and enjoy hands‑on scientific work, this could be the perfect next step in your career

Working hours: This role operates on a rotational shift pattern (7:30am–3:30pm, 8:00am–4:00pm, or 9:30am–5:30pm). Flexibility is essential, as shift times may vary in line with operational needs.

Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW – located just off Junction 35A of the M1. We offer free car parking.


Your main responsibilities:

  • Perform chemical and microbiological testing, including preparing solutions, inspecting samples, and reporting results accurately
  • Inspect and release incoming materials, support method development, and assist with process improvements
  • Collect and record environmental monitoring data and support routine and ad‑hoc sterility monitoring
  • Coordinate external sample testing, manage items requiring sterilisation, and maintain laboratory consumables
  • Maintain high standards of GLP, GMP, GDP, documentation accuracy, and general laboratory housekeeping
  • Support Production activities such as assembly, sanitisation, and routine cleanroom monitoring
  • Contribute to the Quality Management System and document product quality complaints or adverse drug reactions

 

What you need to succeed:

  • A‑level qualification in a science subject or equivelant 
  • Experience in a QC/QA or laboratory role within pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or a related scientific environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively under pressure
  • Analytical thinker with strong communication skills
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and GMP standards
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
