Your Role:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Pharmacy Dispenser to join our team at the Thorncliffe Aseptic Unit. In this role, you will support the day-to-day dispensing, ordering, and supply of pharmacy products for homecare patients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high standard of service.
You’ll work closely with pharmacists, technicians, and wider internal teams to deliver a seamless patient experience and support the safe and efficient running of pharmacy operations.
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday - Onsite
Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW – located just off Junction 35A of the M1. We offer free car parking.
Your main responsibilities:
- Service Delivery - Support the pharmacy team with dispensing prescriptions, preparing patient deliveries, and ensuring timely and accurate supply of products to homecare patients
- Dispensing & Order Management - Pick, dispense, and prepare pharmacy items, upload prescriptions to systems, and coordinate deliveries with couriers
- Stock Management & Control - Maintain appropriate stock levels, carry out stock rotations, manage returns and disposals, and liaise with internal teams to resolve discrepancies
- System & Process Support - Use SAP and internal systems to create deliveries, manage pick lists, and maintain accurate patient and product records
- Quality Assurance & Compliance - Ensure adherence to GDP guidelines, SOPs, and GPhC standards, while supporting reporting of incidents, near misses, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Cross-functional Collaboration - Work with internal departments to support patient transitions from hospital to home and ensure an efficient end-to-end service
What you need to succeed:
- GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
- Dispensing Assistant qualification (Level 2 or equivalent) is desirable
- Experience working in a pharmacy dispensary, distribution, or warehouse environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling prescriptions and stock
- Patient-focused approach with a commitment to high-quality service
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams
