Your Role:

Are you passionate about workforce planning, training strategy, and enabling operational excellence? We’re looking for a dynamic Operational Enablement Lead to join our Compounding Aseptic Production Service (CAPS) team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our workforce.

As Operational Enablement Lead, you’ll operate at a strategic level, translating production demand into clear, actionable workforce and capability plans.

You will hold direct line management responsibility for our Training Team - setting its vision, structure, and priorities to ensure effective onboarding, skills development, and career progression across the Aseptic Unit.

Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW.

Contract: Permanent.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead the Training Team, setting its vision, structure, and priorities to deliver effective onboarding, skills development, and career progression.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through strategic workforce planning, succession development, and capability building.

Workforce Planning & Capability

  • Translate operational demand into resource and skills requirements to support production targets and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify future workforce needs and lead skills audits to ensure readiness and resilience.

Training Strategy & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain a robust training framework aligned with GMP standards and business growth.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and audit schedules.

Stakeholder Engagement & Recruitment Pathways

  • Collaborate with HR, education providers, and internal stakeholders to design recruitment, apprenticeship, and development programmes.
  • Support employee engagement, retention, and performance-linked progression frameworks.

Continuous Improvement & Operational Enablement

  • Champion best practices in resource planning and learning delivery to enhance operational capacity.
  • Contribute to strategic projects that drive continuous improvement and long-term success.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Leadership experience managing a training or learning-focused team.
  • Strong understanding of training delivery in a GMP or aseptic manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to lead workforce planning and capability development.
  • Experience working with internal and external training providers.
  • Skilled in stakeholder collaboration across operations, quality, HR, and education partners.
  • Knowledge of skills audits, compliance, and linking development to pay progression.
  • A strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
