Senior Production Manager

Your Role:

We’re looking for a strategic and driven Senior Production Manager to lead the growth and performance of our Compounding Aseptic Production Service (CAPS).

You will take a hands-on approach in ensuring we meet agreed commercial demand for products, and that provision is made for the growth of a reliable and efficient aseptic manufacturing service. With a strong focus on personal leadership and safety, you will ensure that our CAPS unit continues to operate cost-effectively and on time, whilst meeting our high-quality standards within a highly regulated and controlled environment.

As part of the leadership team, you will have overall responsibility for providing direction, commitment and support to a growing team of more than 100 Production employees across an operation covering 07:00 – 22:00.


Key Details:

Location: Thorncliffe Park, Sheffield, S35 2PW.

Contract: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead a high-performing production team, fostering an inclusive culture and building organisational resilience through effective structure, training, and succession planning.
  • Deputise for the Head of Aseptic Production Services, supporting all aspects of CAPS operations and stakeholder engagement.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure consistent GMP compliance, inspection readiness, and robust investigation processes, including CAPAs and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain alignment with the Quality Management System and regulatory expectations.

Operational Excellence

  • Collaborate on strategic planning to meet manufacturing targets and enable future growth.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, calibration, and validation to minimise downtime and ensure service continuity.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Set and monitor KPIs across all levels, driving accountability and identifying opportunities for improvement through data analysis.
  • Lead cost-efficiency initiatives and support budget planning in partnership with Finance.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain strong cross-functional relationships and communicate performance, priorities, and achievements clearly across teams.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with HS&E policies and UK legislation.

 

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum 3 years in a senior management role within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Broad GMP manufacturing experience, with practical knowledge of aseptic production and cleanroom operations.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop large, multifunctional teams.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and financial spreadsheets (e.g. P&L).
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately under pressure and assimilate information quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative and approachable style.
