Duties and responsabilities:
- You will develop a platform and associated software for digital surgery combining sensors, imaging and navigation
- Your initial focus will be including but not limited to the development of concepts and prototypes for new surgical applications
- Your will create well-structured and maintainable software components using state-of-the-art software design approaches
- You will work in a scrum team collaborating with other software developers as well as with software architects, robotics engineers, system engineers, UX engineers, quality engineers and product owners
- You will work in direct contact with surgical users and help to define technical and application requirements
- You are open to work on all phases of product development from early concepts to implementation and Verification and Validation activities
- You will comply with medical software standards and have the responsibility of developing, integrating, and validating your own software modules
Professional competencies:
- Ideally a PhD in medical image analysis or related disciplines
- Initial experience with navigation systems
- Experience with augmented reality or organ and instrument tracking in laparoscopy would be beneficial
- Good knowledge in machine learning and AI model training and inference
- Development Experience in C++ and Python
- Initial experience in requirements engineering would be beneficial
- Initial experience in contacts with clinical users would be beneficial
- Experience with real-time programming on Linux, ROS2 and/or distributed systems would be beneficial
- Technologies we currently use are C++, Python, Qt, OpenCV, ROS2, GTest/GMock, Git, Azure DevOps, Linux, and RT Linux - Experience in any of these technologies would be an advantage
- Working experience in a regulated field (medical, aerospace, automotive) would be desirable
Personal competencies:
- Hands-on doer and an interdisciplinary networker
- Innovation mindset with enthusiasm for high-tech medical products
- Fluent communication in English. It would be a plus if you have knowledge in German
