Senior DevOps Engineer

Duties and responsibilities:

  • You will develop a scalable, secure and reliable platform for our digital product teams and ensure their continuous optimization 
  • Increase efficiency and consistency by automating the provisioning, configuration, and management of the appropriate platform building blocks
  • You will develop and maintain advanced CI/CD workflows and implement cutting-edge best practices to ensure seamless and efficient delivery of software updates (continuous delivery) 
  • You will continuously expand and improve the continuous delivery process by integrating innovative security practices and tools
  • You will set up and manage comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the integrity and performance of our digital products 
  • Solve complex problems across the stack—from hardware and software to applications and networks—and ensure system stability
  • Proactively monitor applications on the DevSecOps platform and take immediate action in the event of potential errors or issues 
  • They ensure that security best practices are implemented and maintained in all environments
  • You will contribute to the DevSecOps platform by creating and maintaining building blocks, integrations, methods, and plugins 
  • You will work closely with the Center of Competence "DevOps" to introduce requirements and contribute to the improvement of B. Braun's DevSecOps culture

 

Professional competencies:

  • Successfully completed bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or comparable, several years of professional experience 
  • You have several years of experience in systems engineering and IT operations, ideally in a DevOps or Platform Engineering role. Experience as a system architect is an advantage
  • Extensive experience with Cloud Hyperscaler (Azure, AWS, GCP), where Azure is a plus
  • Ability to efficiently manage and optimize hyperscalers and their building blocks
  • Proficient in Kubernetes to seamlessly integrate and operate container solutions
  • Mastery of automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform to optimize and automate deployment processes in a targeted manner 
  • Experience in creating and managing CI/CD workflows, especially with GitHub Actions, to ensure smooth and efficient software delivery
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or other to automate tasks and improve processes 
  • In-depth knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to monitor system health and performance
