Position Overview

As part of the Western Europe Legal Department, the Legal Counsel supports strategic and operational activities across several jurisdictions, providing practical legal guidance to management and business teams.
Based in Saint‑Cloud (Paris area), you will oversee a multi‑country perimeter including the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Nordics, Belgium, and the Netherlands, acting as a trusted partner to the business while balancing compliance, risk management, and operational efficiency.
This role is ideal for a business‑minded legal professional who thrives in an international, fast‑paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide business‑oriented legal advice on commercial, corporate, and regulatory matters across Western European markets.

  • Support strategic initiatives including innovation projects, organizational changes, and new business model integrations.

  • Draft, negotiate, and review complex commercial agreements (distribution, supply, partnership, digital solutions, etc.).

  • Advise on cross‑border transactions, M&A topics, and strategic collaborations.

  • Ensure compliance with UK and EU legal frameworks.

  • Support corporate governance processes: draft board/shareholder resolutions, maintain statutory records, ensure required filings.

  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments impacting the region.

  • Manage disputes, litigation, and regulatory investigations in collaboration with external legal counsels.

  • Develop mitigation strategies to reduce legal exposure across the region.

  • Contribute to the digital transformation of legal operations (CLM tools, workflows, e‑signature, AI‑supported legal processes).

  • Prepare monthly reports for the Head of Legal Western Europe.

  • Promote legal awareness by developing and delivering internal training and communication initiatives.

  • Support business teams in informed, compliant decision‑making.

 

Perimeter

Region: Western Europe (UK, Ireland, Nordics, Belgium, Netherlands)
Location: Saint‑Cloud (France), with regular travel across the region.

 

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in the UK or another European jurisdiction (UK‑qualified Solicitor is a plus, and dual qualification is a strong asset)

  • Minimum 5 years of post‑qualification experience, ideally in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or similarly regulated industries.

  • Proven experience managing international legal matters and cross‑border transactions.

  • Strong understanding of UK and EU regulatory frameworks.

  • Full professional proficiency in English and the ability to communicate effectively in French (additional european languages are a strong advantage).

  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with a pragmatic and business‑oriented mindset.

  • Ability to operate independently, manage multiple jurisdictions, and work in a fast‑paced environment.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to partner with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality legal support.
