We are looking for a Global Category Manager (m/f/d) for Utilities for our global indirect procurement organization at the earliest possible date.

 

Department Overview

The Utilities & Sterilization Services department is responsible for the strategic procurement of external services and products in the areas of energy supply (including electricity, gas, steam) and sterilization services. We act as a proactive business partner to internal functions and production sites, aiming to achieve optimal results across the dimensions of quality, supply security, sustainability, innovation, risk, and cost.

The key to successful procurement lies in cross-functional and global collaboration, as well as a deep understanding of technical requirements and regulatory frameworks.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Development and implementation of a global category strategy within the overall global energy procurement strategy
  • Representation of procurement towards external business partners and senior management
  • Monitoring of markets, as well as analysis of innovation and technology trends
  • Negotiation and conclusion of energy contracts with a strong focus on risk and cost optimization
  • Monitoring regulatory developments in energy markets and deriving required actions
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders (e.g., sustainability team, facility management, finance)
  • Responsibility for CSRD-relevant procurement measures including PPAs, ESG integration, and reporting support

 

Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in business administration, engineering, energy economics, or comparable
  • Several years of experience in strategic energy procurement
  • Solid knowledge of energy markets (electricity and gas)
  • Experience with PPAs and sustainability strategies
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes
  • Fluency in English and Spanish; German is an advantage
  • Proficiency with digital tools and MS Office
  • SAP knowledge is a plus
