B. Braun Miethke GmbH & Co. KG, based in Potsdam, is a joint venture between Aesculap AG - a subsidiary of the medical technology and pharmaceuticals manufacturer B. Braun Melsungen AG - and Christoph Miethke - founder and CEO of Christoph Miethke GmbH & Co. KG in Potsdam.
We work passionately on the development of innovative drug delivery products with the aim of fulfilling previously unmet or barely met requirements of users and patients.
We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer (m/f/d) to join our R&D team and help us bring an innovative implantable system for targeted drug delivery from late prototyping stage to market maturity.
Duties and responsibilities
- Assemble in cleanroom, test, and analyze the performance of early-stage product designs of microfluidic mechatronic valves, dosage systems and complete implants for drug delivery.
- Assist in developing processes and manufacturing tools to improve the reliability and efficiency of device production in cleanroom.
- Assist in developing in-line manufacturing tests (for the cleanroom) to ensure product quality.
- Develop test equipment and procedures, carry out experiments in our laboratories to evaluate the performance and safety of our products and document the results.
- Draft and review part specifications, drawings and technical documentation.
- Work with suppliers and define part requirements for purchased components.
- Perform verification testing when necessary.
- Assist with design transfer activities to move the product into serial production.
Professional competencies
- Degree in mechanical engineering, medical engineering, mechatronics or similar (Bachelor / Master).
- Min. 5 years of relevant experience in R&D and/or manufacturing in cleanroom (preferably implantable medical devices).
- Experience in design of mechanical parts with 3D CAD software (preferably Solidworks).
- Basic knowledge of electronics.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations for medical technology (MDR, FDA, ISO13485) is a plus.
- English and German language skills (min. B2 in either one).

- Teamplayer with strong communications skills.
- Hands on approach, skilled working with hands.
- Experience with assembly and troubleshooting of early-stage products is a must.
- Previous work with microscopic parts is a plus.
