About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and strategic Procurement Officer (Strategic Buyer) to join our Procurement team at B Braun Vietnam. In this role, you will drive sourcing initiatives, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the effective procurement of both direct and indirect materials. Your key responsibilities:
80% for Direct materials, 20% for Indirect materials
1. Source-to-Contract: Define sourcing strategy and manage RFX / Clarify requests, finalize specs, and align with category strategies / Oversee supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting
- Source and select vendors based on procurement policies and SOPs to procure items that best meet both technical and commercial requirements, achieving the highest savings for the factory as per the annual savings target set by the regional office.
- Be responsible for assigned Categories
2. Supplier Relationship Management: Handle supplier registration and pre-qualification / Evaluate performance and manage development plans / Manage supplier disqualification and improvement measures
For direct items and critical indirect items, cooperate with related departments (such as QC, QM, and the requesting departments) to qualify suppliers by performing the following tasks:
- Handle Change Control: Manage change requests, hold meetings with related departments, and update tasks in the B.doc system.
- Audit Suppliers: Implement audit documents and conduct on-site supplier audits with QM, QC, and the requesting department.
- Run Incoming Tests: Coordinate between suppliers, QM, QC, and user departments to conduct input inspections as required.
- Self-Questionnaire: Send self-questionnaire forms to vendors and obtain their acknowledgment.
- Collaborate with the user department to ensure the contract is executed according to the agreed-upon conditions.
- Monitor delivery and payment terms for each purchase order.
- Work with the user department to conduct annual assessments. Quality Agreement (QAA): Coordinate with QM to obtain fully signed Quality Agreements from suppliers.
- Other Supplier Relationship Management Activities: Perform other qualification activities as required on a case-by-case basis.
3. Plan-to-Strategy: Provide local requirements in category working groups / Support local implementation of strategies
- Collaborate with Global/ Regional Category Manager (CM) to provide local requirements in category working groups
- Support local implementation of strategies from Global/ Reginal CM
4. Other tasks: Performance Management: Achieve defined objectives and KPIs, incl. savings / Report on sourcing activities' status
- Handle reporting, projects, standard operating procedures (SoPs)
- Cost-saving initiatives
- Oversee the sale of scrap items
- Other tasks as assigned by the manager.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting, Foreign Trade, Business Administration and related degree
- 1–3 years of procurement experience in manufacturing sector
- Strong experience in Excel and SAP/ERP
- Strong English skills (equivalent to 6.5 IELTS or above)
- Technical background is a plus
- Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or technical procurement is a plus
- FDI company experience are welcomed
