Within the Group Digital Department, we are seeking, as soon as possible, a Product Owner (f/m/d) – Hospital Integration – at the Melsungen site.
As our Technical Product Owner (f/m/d) for Interoperability (Hospital Integration), you will be the central point of contact for the integration of our cloud-native healthcare applications. You will translate complex market needs into a clear technical vision and actionable development plans.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- You will define and own the technical product vision and strategy for our interoperable solutions, focusing on product positioning, demand driven product roadmap and service concepts
- You will translate this vision into technical epics and user stories, prioritizing requirements based on standards like HL7, FHIR and IHE. To ensure integration with hospital information systems (HIS) you and the team will support in the selection and introduction of standard interfaces (e.g., FHIR, REST, SOAP, DICOM)
- You will work closely with a dedicated agile product team and our agile development teams to ensure successful delivery
- You will become the voice of the customer by planning and analyzing market surveys to deeply understand their needs, processes, and challenges with system integration
- You will act as the key liaison between our hospital clients' IT departments, internal development teams, Centers of Excellence, and other business units to ensure alignment and smooth integration
- You will guide our products through critical certification processes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards like GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and MDR (Medical Device Regulation)
Professional Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, or a related field with a strong IT focus
- Experience as a Product Owner or Technical Product Manager in an agile environment (Scrum/SAFe) is an advantage
- Proven experience in integrating complex IT systems, especially within a hospital environment (e.g., connecting to a HIS)
- Deep knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, particularly HL7 FHIR, familiarity with HL7v2, CDA, IHE and DICOM is also essential
- Strong understanding of data management strategies, including databases, cloud services (e.g., Azure), and data protection regulations (GDPR)
- Hands-on knowledge of modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes) and tools (Jira, Confluence) and experience with applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) in a clinical context is a plus
- Familiarity with the German telematics infrastructure and its services is a plus
- Fluency in German and English language is mandatory
