The Cortex Design System (Cortex DS) is the heart of innovative business solutions and appealing user interfaces at B. Braun. It brings together all the standards, principles, and patterns necessary for the design of interactions and user interfaces (UI) to develop intelligent business solutions. Cortex DS provides comprehensive resources such as design templates, code, and documentation that make it easy to build such applications. As one of the supporting pillars of the Digital Foundation (DF), Cortex DS is an integral part of the Group Digital Department (GDD).

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Anchoring Cortex DS as a design system at B. Braun for the smart business solutions and graphical machine user interfaces, which are later sold to customers in a licensing model
• Ensure the availability of Cortex DS resources, including regular lifecycle activities (e.g., updates and patches) for internal and external teams
• Continuous development of Cortex DS resources through new or adapted UI elements and documentation. Maintain, synchronize and adapt the roadmap with the projects to meet their requirements
• Increase the number of users of Cortex DS (design and code) resources, such as by extending use cases or a mobile design system
• Conceptual development of Cortex DS (e.g. team structure, working methods, technologies)
• Ensuring acceptance, correct use and feedback on the design system
• Adherence to the Digital Foundation process and support the development team in creating the necessary regulatory documents
• Formulate and pursue a goal vision and roadmap in Jira Planner for Cortex DS in coordination with the Cortex DS team, DF services and stakeholders, and projects
• Alignment via prio. for incoming requests with Product Owners, DF Services, to create a solid, release-focused roadmap that allows it to be customized to meet needs
• Processing of incoming requests, formulation of requirements, maintenance of Polarion requirements

Professional competences:

• Experience as a Senior Product Owner and understanding of medical regulations, with a backround in development and design 
• Experience with Web Components, Frameworks like Angular and React as well as knowledge in the UX|UI Figma design world 
• Experience in project management and development of a team
• You have extensive knowledge of systems, functions and principles, as well as how to deal with web components and the token-driven design system approach
• You are well-versed in stakeholder management and communication across different platforms and channels
• They are experienced in presenting at events such as hackathons and conferences
• You bring a can-do mentality, appear self-confident and appropriate, and act agilely
• Fluency in written and spoken English
