We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at B. Braun Sterilog! In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing a full range of engineering and building services equipment.

 

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will conduct condition surveys, assess inspection reports, and oversee maintenance repairs, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and procedures.

 

You will support the Engineering Management across a full range of duties while also providing technical guidance to other B. Braun staff and third-party contractors.

 

Please note, as part of your role you will provide an emergency out of hour’s service, working a rotating shift pattern covering 365 days a year.

Your main responsibilities will be:
 

  • Responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plants and equipment including:
    • voltage systems,
    • steam raising plant and associated equipment,
    • steam sterilizers,
    • instrument washers,
    • lighting,
    • fire detection,
    • standby generator,
    • building services controls,
    • heating and ventilation control systems.
       
  • Plan and organise major planned works, service interruptions and other maintenance activities.
  • Undertake the role of Authorised person (AP) or Deputy Authorised person for identified services and systems.
  • Problem solving of technical issues and fault diagnosis on complex Mechanical and Electrical systems.
  • Produce / contribute to generic Risk Assessments as required for all elements of work.
     

What you’ll need to succeed:

 

  • Engineering Qualification - completion of recognised and registered CITB or EITB apprenticeship.
  • Experience working on breakdowns and PPM on technical and medical equipment.
  • Experience of working autonomously and managing a high workload.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Able to work as part of a team and co-ordinate work with other trades.
  • Experience within a sterile environment would be advantageous, however full training in the decontamination industry will be provided.
