General Manager B. Braun Zambia

The B. Braun Southern African Region is looking for a General Manager for B. Braun Zambia.  The position holder will be based in Lusaka, Zambia, responsible for a sales organization and renal dialysis centres operated B. Braun. We seek a dynamic individual to lead operations, build strategic partnerships, grow sales and shape the future of the company.

 

Duties and responsibilities

  • Develops and executes long-, medium-, and short-term commercial strategies for the local sales and marketing organization, fully aligned with Group strategy and the company’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Drives sustainable revenue growth through innovative go-to-market approaches, customer acquisition strategies, and expansion into new market segments.
  • Owns sales performance, ensuring achievement of top-line revenue and bottom-line profit targets through effective budget management, forecasting, and commercial planning.
  • Defines and adapts the local pricing strategy to maximize competitiveness and profitability in alignment with market dynamics and business objectives.
  • Leads commercial operations, including sales, supply chain, and dialysis unit activities, ensuring operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government authorities, healthcare providers, and business partners, to support market access and business development.
  • Provides market intelligence and local insights to regional and global teams to inform product lifecycle management and portfolio decisions.
  • Designs and optimizes the local sales and marketing structure, ensuring efficient resource allocation and capability building to support growth.
  • Inspires and leads the local team by fostering a high-performance culture rooted in trust, accountability, and diversity, acting as a role model for core values.
  • Represents the Zambian organization externally, positioning the company as a trusted partner and industry leader in the healthcare space.
  • Champions innovation and change, identifying new business opportunities and driving transformation initiatives to accelerate growth.
  • Ensures full compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements across all commercial activities.

 

Professional competencies

  • University Degree with several years of experience in Med-Tech / Pharma
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sales / Marketing Leadership Position
  • Good Networker and high stakeholder management competencies
  • Excellent communication on different levels
  • Experience in P&L Responsibility
  • Fluent in English

 

Personal competencies

  • Proven leadership experience in pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices
  • Proven track record of active growth in the sector 
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strategic vision and operational grit.
  • Strong business acumen and operational skills
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets or P&L.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • High Result & success-orientation
  • Possesses excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be Zambian Citizen
