We are looking for an experienced and highly committed Director to lead our 150-person Development Division, overseeing the development of software solutions for medical devices, dialysis systems, and infusion pumps.
Tasks:
- Lead and develop the 150-person Software Engineering organization in Budapest, which is responsible for software solutions supporting medical devices, dialysis machines, and infusion pumps, including 8 people leaders and technical experts.
- Accountable for the strategic, operational, and financial performance of the division, including approval of budgets, investments, and operational plans.
- Establish accountability, ownership, and organizational effectiveness through clear governance and leadership routines.
- Leading business-critical development programs and initiatives.
- Ensure successful delivery of development activities in complex and demanding environments.
- Driving execution under demanding timelines and changing priorities.
- Lead organizational change initiatives and ensure sustainable implementation.
- Build a high-performing software engineering organization.
- Advance software development practices, technical excellence, CyberSecurity, AI-related initiatives, and engineering methodologies.
- Identify risks, drive timely escalation, and actively lead problem-solving activities.
- Build strong collaboration across functions, business units, locations, and international matrix organizations.
- Represent the Software Engineering organization as its Director at senior management level and drive business impact through engineering excellence.
- Support the transformation towards an AI-enabled engineering organization while developing future-ready skills and capabilities.
Requirements:
- Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
- Strong professional experience in software development.
- Experience with complex software-intensive products and systems.
- Experience within regulated and/or safety-critical development environments.
- Sound understanding of modern software development methodologies, architectures, software lifecycle processes, and quality systems.
- Experience with embedded software development is advantageous.
- Experience in medical device development is highly desirable.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear business decisions and management messages.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities.
- Professional English language skills.
- German language skills is highly desirable.
