Are you an experienced operations leader who excels at driving alignment, influencing diverse stakeholders, and enabling high-performing manufacturing environments? We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Vice President - Site Lead, BMI Penang to join our leadership team.

About the Role

As the Site Lead for BMI’s Operation, you will serve as the key connection between our Global COE Operations and our three Manufacturing Plants, Operations Support and Technical Education in Penang, Malaysia. You will ensure strategic priorities are effectively translated into action on the ground, lead operational escalations, and guide fast, informed decision-making across complex, multi-site environments.

This is a high-impact executive role with both strategic and hands-on responsibilities—ideal for a leader who thrives in dynamic environments and enjoys building strong partnerships across all levels of the organisation.

Med‑tech experience is not required (though it’s a plus). We’re looking first and foremost for a seasoned, influential operations leader who can bring clarity, structure, and alignment across diverse teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Strategic & Operational Alignment

  • Partner closely with the Operations COE to convert strategy into plant-level action plans.
  • Ensure consistent adoption of global standards, priorities, and operational expectations.

Lead Escalations & Rapid Decision-Making

  • Serve as the executive escalation point for operational issues raised by plant leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional responses and ensure timely, sustainable resolution.

Build Strong Relationships Across the Network

  • Engage closely with Plant Managers, Operations Support, Technical Education, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Influence and collaborate effectively with different personalities, leadership styles, and matrix structures.

Prioritise & Optimise Operational Performance

  • Assess readiness, risks, and constraints across plants to guide effective prioritisation.
  • Provide insights to leadership to support operational continuity and delivery.

Represent the Organisation Externally

  • Engage with education institutions, technical training partners, and talent development bodies.
  • Champion initiatives that strengthen future workforce capabilities.

Advance Operational Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and performance enhancements across BMI Production.
  • Support the rollout of new processes, tools, and best practices across sites.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications

  • Senior leadership experience in Operations, Manufacturing (VP/GM level or equivalent).
  • Proven success leading within multi‑site or matrixed organisations.
  • Strong capability in managing escalations, resolving crises, and guiding short-term decisions.
  • Outstanding stakeholder influence and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to communicate with clarity, credibility, and executive presence.
  • Skilled at navigating complex personalities and high-pressure environments with professionalism.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Background in med‑tech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated industries.
  • Experience with COE operating models or global manufacturing networks.
  • Exposure to technical education or workforce development collaborations.
