As a Head of Toolshop and Moulding Engineering at B. Braun, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our manufacturing capabilities and supporting the delivery of high-quality medical devices to global markets.
Your key responsibilities:
- Lead and integrate Toolshop and Moulding Engineering operations, including capacity expansion, asset replacement and NPI activities within high-precision tooling and injection moulding environments.
- Drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, precision engineering practices and innovative tooling solutions.
- Build, lead and develop a high-performing team of managers, engineers, technicians, machinists and toolmakers to drive efficiency, productivity and technical excellence.
- Partner closely with Production to ensure delivery against time, cost, quality and output targets within internal stakeholder’s expectations.
- Evaluate, justify and lead capital investments in equipment, automation and manufacturing systems.
- Oversee process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), production trials, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Establish and lead toolshop spare parts management to ensure operational readiness.
- Ensure full compliance with GMP, FDA, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, workplace safety regulations and other applicable standards.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Polymer or equivalent)
OR extensive hands-on leadership experience in high-precision tooling and injection moulding environments. - PMP or equivalent project management certification is an advantage.
- 15+ years of experience, preferably within medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in plastic injection moulding, tooling and equipment validation process.
- Strong leadership, project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-technology automation and high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Risk management, CAPA, Health & Safety
- Regulatory standards (GMP, FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
- Cleanroom manufacturing environments
- High level of commercial and operational acumen, including cost control and investment planning.
