Casual Healthcare Assistant

Your Role:

We are looking for a reliable and motivated individual to join our team on a casual basis – flexible shifts available to fit around your schedule!

You will help keep the unit running smoothly by managing stock and supplies, supporting housekeeping tasks, and preparing the clinical area ready for patients attending their dialysis treatment.

Please note, this is a casual position, meaning hours are not guaranteed and will be offered based on unit needs. This role may suit individuals looking for flexible or ad-hoc work. 

Key Details:

Location: Basingstoke Dialysis Unit, Unit 7, The Ringway Centre, Edison Road, Basingstoke, RG21 6YH. Free parking available on site.

 

Your main responsibilities:

  • Provide general assistance to nursing staff with patient care in the treatment room.
  • Liaise with transport and other departments in order to arrange appointments.
  • Support the unit routine, by escorting patients to the wards, blood specimens and pharmacy errands.
  • Monitor and record patients’ weights pre and post dialysis.
  • Prepare and serve patients with refreshments.
  • Preparation of the clinical area.
  • Maintain stocks and supplies within the treatment areas.
  • Undertake housekeeping duties.

What you need to succeed:

  • Team player with the ability to work unsupervised using your own initiative.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to demonstrate empathy and sympathy.
  • Be detail focused with the ability to meet daily deadlines.
  • Flexible to cover the needs of the patients/unit.
