Ubicación del puesto:  Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain
Área funcional:  Tecnología de la información
Modelo de trabajo:  Híbrido
ID de la demanda:  8083

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing Tech Hub. This role sits at the core of our Azure-based Data Analytics Platform and will contribute directly to the next generation of digital healthcare products.

You will design, build, and optimize robust data pipelines using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Python—enabling event-driven, real-time analytics that power both business and clinical dashboards. Beyond implementation, you will act as a pragmatic partner to stakeholders, translating needs into scalable data solutions with strong governance, security, and operational excellence in a regulated environment.

Your Tasks in the Team

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines on our Azure Data Analytics Platform, primarily leveraging Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Python (PySpark/Pandas).
  • Integrate data from internal APIs and streaming device data sources, ensuring high data quality, observability, and reliability across ingestion, transformation, and delivery layers.
  • Support event-driven, near real-time analytics for business and clinical dashboards with a focus on scalability, availability, and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow data engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders to implement robust, secure, and compliant data solutions end to end.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and drive the continuous improvement of data engineering practices and platform standards.
  • Uphold data governance, security, privacy, and regulatory requirements (healthcare/regulated context), ensuring auditability and traceability.
  • Partner with platform/cloud teams on Azure infrastructure and networking considerations that impact data workloads.
  • Mentor team members and promote best practices in cloud data engineering, reliability, and analytics.

Your Experience in the Backpack

  • Strong experience architecting and delivering cloud-based data analytics solutions, ideally on Microsoft Azure.
  • Hands-on expertise with Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and event-driven data architectures (real-time/streaming).
  • Proficiency in Python/PySpark and SQL, with proven experience operating at large scale (performance tuning, optimization, and cost control).
  • Familiarity with data governance, security, compliance, and data protection; experience in healthcare or regulated sectors is a strong plus.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure and networking in Azure (e.g., identity, networking, storage patterns) and their implications for data platforms.
  • Solid engineering fundamentals: version control, CI/CD for data, testing strategies, monitoring/observability, and documentation.
  • A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
