An Exciting Career Opportunity Exists for an Avitum Coastal Training Facilitator based in KwaZulu-Natal
This is a full-time, permanent position based in KwaZulu-Natal, Oversee B. Braun renal units in the KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape and Eastern Cape, reporting to the Operational Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the planning, delivery, coordination, and evaluation of clinical and product training across Avitum Renal Units. The successful candidate will ensure that clinical staff are competent, compliant, and up to date with best clinical practices, equipment use, organisational standards, and regulatory requirements, ultimately supporting high‑quality and safe patient care across the regions
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver clinical training for dialysis nursing staff and support teams
- Facilitate induction, onboarding, and ongoing competency‑based training in renal care
- Conduct competency assessments, simulations, and return demonstrations
- Provide training on dialysis equipment, including machines, water treatment systems, and consumables
- Support equipment rollouts, upgrades, and new technologies
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards
- Support clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
- Promote a culture of patient safety, continuous learning, and best practice
Educational Qualifications and Professional Experience:
- Registered Nurse with a valid professional registration (e.g. SANC or equivalent)
- Postgraduate qualification in Renal Nursing (essential or strongly preferred)
- BHSc or BTech in Clinical Technology (Nephrology)
- Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport (essential)
- Minimum of 5 years’ renal care experience
- Demonstrated experience in clinical training, facilitation, or mentorship
- Hands‑on experience with renal dialysis equipment and water treatment systems
- Experience working across multiple sites or clinical environments (advantageous)
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of haemodialysis principles, protocols, and renal patient care
- In‑depth understanding of renal equipment operation and safety
- In‑depth understanding of renal equipment operation and safety
- Ability to translate clinical knowledge into effective learning experiences
- Ability to engage and train staff with varying levels of experience
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across a large geographical region
