We are looking for an experienced AI & ML Engineer (f/m/d) at the earliest possible date for our location in Melsungen to take on a central technical role in our Data Intelligence & Data Innovation team. You will design and implement production-grade AI systems and act as a key advisor and role model within our growing AI community, translating cutting-edge AI capabilities into scalable, reliable products that deliver real business value.
Taks and Reponsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of complex AI solutions, driving technical planning and ensuring successful execution within time, budget, and quality targets
- Collaborate with international, multidisciplinary stakeholders to translate requirements into concrete AI solution designs and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Design and implement complex, production-grade AI systems, including:
- End-to-end AI solution architecture of scalable, cloud-native data/model pipelines or AI components in software applications
- LLM-based workflow automations and conversational AI systems
- AI agents with multi-agent orchestration
- RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems
- Classical ML models and predictive analytics pipelines (regression, classification, anomaly detection)
- Automated training, validation, and deployment pipelines (CI/CD for ML), model registry and model monitoring
- Stay current with the latest AI topics and bring new techniques into the organization through projects, community work, and proof of concepts
- Act as a technical role model within our AI community
Professional Competencies:
- You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related technical field
- You demonstrate strong proficiency in Python and common AI frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, Scikit-learn, etc.)
- A solid understanding of AI solution architecture principles including scalability, security, cost-efficiency and maintainability sets you apart
- You have hands-on experience with LLM-based applications, including RAG systems and AI agents
- Working with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI Service, Azure Container Apps, or comparable services) is something you are comfortable with
- Experience with Azure Databricks for large-scale data processing and ML workflows is an advantage
- Ideally, you have gained experience in working within highly regulated environments
