Within the Group Digital Department we are currently seeking an Usability Engineer (f/m/d) at our Melsungen location.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- You develop and validate designs of complex medical device systems throughout the complete product lifecycle in terms of safety and effectiveness
- You support the development of multi-modal cross-device screen flows, interactive prototypes, and implementation of interface designs under the Human Centered Design principle
- You conduct user research to gather insights on user needs and preferences
- You plan, execute, and document formative and summative usability evaluations of user interfaces (hardware and software)
- You analyze research data, usability evaluations, and contribute to UI design and user experience optimizations
- You create all necessary usability documents for market approvals according to IEC 62366-1 and FDA guidance documents
- You support the use-related risk analysis according to ISO 14971
- You collaborate with clinical advisors, healthcare professionals, risk managers, quality managers, UI/UX designers, UX researcher and development engineers
Professional competencies
- Degree in Medical Technology, Engineering, Human Factors Engineering or similar fields
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Usability Engineer (m/f/d) in the medical device or healthcare industry
- Familiar with the application and implementation of standards and regulations in the field of human factors engineering or usability engineering (e.g. IEC 62366, ISO 14971, FDA guidelines, etc.)
- Solid understanding of requirements engineering and extensive experience with design validation processes in accordance with ISO 13485
- Strong documentation skills to ensure comprehensive recording of processes and results for technical documentation
- Excellent written and spoken English skills; German skills are an advantage
